Born and raised in Lima, Peru. UX designer. Industrial engineer. I am Asian. I am also Latino. The DIY punk scene shaped my youth — probably responsible for the person I am today. I loved tech since I was a kid. Still do. Early exposure to tech in the 2000s sparked my passion for HCI and GUIs. Did not know the proper terms back then.

Hands-on experience during my engineering studies gave me the language and the framework. I properly learned about “Design Thinking”. I started working at a start-up studio as a self-taught Product Designer before moving to the United States to pursue a BFA in User Experience Design at SCAD — a program developed in partnership with Google. Since then, I’ve worked across digital and physical spaces, always pushing for research-driven, user-centered outcomes.

Coming from an Engineering background... I’m a systems thinker. I map complex user flows. I streamline experiences. I blend systems thinking with a user-first mindset.

As Sir Jony said:

“True simplicity is derived from so much more than just the absence of clutter and ornamentation. It’s about bringing order to complexity.”

Chaos is order... I embrace uncertainty. I embrace ambiguity. Move fast. Prototype fast. “Fail fast, fail often” they say. Iterate toward better solutions. I wake up every day excited about the future.

This is a visual journey of all the experiences that have shaped me into the designer I am today:

OUTSIDE OF UX I love music. More than music — the community around it. I used to write articles about music. Then started a collective. We published press articles, interviews, podcasts, launched listening parties, and more. I had my own radio podcast on Spotify. Mainly for F&F. Then, made guest appearances on global stations like dublab and NTS Radio. Started my own shows at my college radio station.

I like exploring the history of music — how media and technology have shaped every era of promotion and discovery. We take a lot for granted now. Before Photoshop… before the internet… how did people discover music back then? I love that feeling of discovery. Still do.

USER EXPERIENCE [UX] DESIGN IS ABOUT SOLVING REAL PROBLEMS WITH EMPATHY, RESEARCH, AND ITERATION. I EMBRACE A NON-LINEAR, COLLABORATIVE PROCESS, DRIVEN BY DATA AND FOCUSED ON BOTH USER NEEDS AND BUSINESS GOALS. I THRIVE IN UNCERTAINTY, TESTING, REFINING, AND PUSHING BOUNDARIES TO DELIVER SEAMLESS, MEANINGFUL EXPERIENCES THAT CHALLENGE THE STATUS QUO AND CREATE REAL VALUE.

NUMA This project aimed to minimize subjectivity in organ assessment, improve organ utilization rates, and expedite transplant decision-making. Concept validated by the United Network for Organ Sharing (UNOS) Labs.
